It wasn't Virtuix so much as It was @sutekiB that wasn't sharing a link for it, can't fault him TOO much for not having a link to the products of their commercial partner...
or the right name apparently lol?

I kind of want one of these for my vive but I have a custom one I made for dual controllers since I play ONWARD a lot and they support the second controller holding the fore grip to steady your aim more. It cost me about $15 and is made from PVC pipe that I bought from Lowe's. Then for non vive FPS games like BF4 I have a Delta Six Rifle that I use as the controller.

The prop gun that the Vive controller is docked into is made by our commercial partner UNIS.

was UNIS bought out? On that page the About Us the company name says "Beswin (Hong Kong) Co., Ltd" here is their product list http://www.magp90.com/product/en/list/product-1.html in case people at PAX or E3 etc etc ever ask you guys where to buy one of those guns after they try it with the Omni. :D

They also have the gatlin gun that the Serious Sam videos show off :P

LMFAO!!! right that Gatlin Gun is cool looking as a prop but I'd spend MAYBE 100 TOPS for that thing lol. I doubt it spins, I'd have to rewatch the videos of serious sam when they are using it to see for sure.

PS you forgot the closing carrot ">" after my name in the quote so it doesn't show the text you quoted ^.^ I fixed it when I quoted your quote but thought I'd give ya the heads up so you might be able to edit it before the SUPER DUMB 1 hour timer ends... they should remove that 1 hour edit limiter ... so silly.

I was not withholding a link; the first time I saw that link happened to be the same day it was posted here on the forum. Indeed, I don't handle commercial sales inquiries so there's no reason I would have, or need to have that link. It was my understanding that UNIS made the gun prop. Perhaps I was mistaken, or maybe they commissioned the prop from another company.

@sami I fixed your quote for you with my awesome mod powers

@RABID I'm not at the office at the moment and I left it there, but I'll be back in a few weeks - I'll take some pictures for you then.

@Rabid I'm planning to post a design for the harness mount as part of a guide for Doom 3. While I'm at it, I have an idea for a DIY gun prop for the Vive controller. I'll be sure to post the guide here (I'll update my original post) when that's done. Should be ready in 1-2 weeks.

    any update on this guide?

    where did the video go?

I'll be back in the office in a little over a week - I left my notes on Doom 3 there, so I won't be able to do it before that. We removed the legacy game videos (this includes mods) because they were causing some confusion. While I miss the legacy game videos, I think it's appropriate that the Virtuix channel exclusively features games that are fully supported - there are some exciting announcements coming up soon!

I'm reinstalling on a new computer so I can put out a guide on how to set it up if anyone needs its just let me know ^.^

    Download this: https://mega.nz/#!0V80GArL!Bg3iqB39Q992WOezGHJ8T6Z1FEBwXLJq9fZULij2ALc

    Then Start the Doom3BFGVR_Fully_Possessed_Alpha022.exe installer.

If Doom 3 BFG was not originally installed on your main Steam hard-drive, change the install path to reflect
the Doom 3 BFG installation directory. If you have enough disk space, it is recommended to select to install
both Base and Player AAS files. The AAS files may be omitted, but will negatively impact the ability to use
teleportation. It is only recommended to skip the AAS file installation if you do not plan on using teleportation.

When installation is complete, a shortcut will be created on your desktop and in your program list. If it doesn't just open your "...Steam\\steamapps\common\DOOM 3 BFG Edition" folder and right click then make a shortcut for Doom3BFGVR.exe easy peazy ^.^

wouldn't be too hard, it supports soft decoupled allowing you to look and shoot in separate directions all it needs is the function to walk in the direction the harness is facing.

Any luck on that guide yet @sutekiB ? I managed to get the game up and working but when i walk the character walks away from me and it acts like i'm a stationary camera until i stop then the camera teleports to catch up to the character haha...

Hi guys, sorry about the delay in getting a new guide up - I've been busy with a lot of other stuff lately. You may have noticed that the Doom 3 video is no longer on the Virtuix YouTube channel. We took a lot of videos down recently as they were causing some confusion. Many had an 'available to pre-order now' banner along the bottom, which is no longer the case. I do hope to have a guide up at some point, though getting it to work is really easy. Here is the mod I used: https://github.com/Codes4Fun/RBDOOM-3-BFG/releases

If you've just received your Omni, I recommend putting this at the top of your list of legacy games to try - it's awesome!

    Best regards,
    SutekiB

I love your tutorials and efforts my friend I really do, but lets be honest, the videos where taken down because it shows the Omni playing those games as if it was native to the platform and that is how people who preordered though it was going to be. Sorry but I'm in a cranky mood and not really feeling all the excuses. Its obvious why it was taken down, and it isn't because of the pre-order because that hasn't worked for a long long time before that. Nobody was looking at the banner, all they saw was "HOLY HELL I CAN WALK AROUND IN A VIRTUAL WORLD".

    No, no you can't.

they have a cheaper version in black

I tried one of these at the Holodeck in Stamford today. Its cool but the plastic is really cheap and brittle. If you drop it, buy buy money.
