What does the Omniverse app actually do to your Omni? Can you uninstall it?

I don't have the Omniverse app, but I wanted to ask, if I install it, can I then later uninstall it? Additionally, how does the Omniverse affect your Omni unit? Can you have the Omniverse installed AND still use Vorpx to play games like classic doom 2 or halo on it? I read somewhere here that the Omniverse restricts gamepad mode, how does that affect gameplay or actually, how does that restrict the number of games you can play?
