@xxann5 I know how you feel about the cables, et al.. I've been tossing up how to address the entire thing for a while.. current plans are to have a USB hub and HDMI connectors built into the "sim-chair-of-awesome" and then when I get the Omni it will be a static install (the wife is just thrilled about that) and I'll install cables/connections/etc permanently
I bought it.. don't care how much it cost my eldest child is happy it wasn't over $1000 or he'd be donating a kidney to the cause (hey, young kidneys are worth lots!!)
What's funny is I saw that video earlier in the day when I was doing VR research. Congrats on the order.
Well guys as the 6th of Jan comes to an end it certainly was one for the history books (VR history books). I hope everyone who decided to get a Rift got their order in despite all the problems in the beginning. Can't wait to do all of this again with the Vive and PS VR!
in fact a contemplate more for a refund of the omni than for the purchase of the new rift. Not for the rift being to expensive (while it is), but expecting VR to totally stall. So no need to spend 3000$ to play 3 games (anyway i do not like game, i hoped VR would be a little be more than looking video in a virtual cinema, or shooting virtual target). What delivery in June ? what will be the impact of this on the omni ? expecting people to cut purchase of new GPU, of the omni, or other things to afford the rift or the VIves ?
Well, there are lot more games than 3. I think you might want to wait for the HTC Vive + Omni. For example, imagine games likes this:
But rather than having to clear out an entire room, you'll have the Omni. And you won't be restricted to a limited space like the warehouse in the VR scene, but rather you could play something like skyrim or fallout 4.
